The Role

This proactive, outreach-driven sales role requires starting conversations, following up, and advancing opportunities. It’s a quota-carrying position focused on development.

You’ll build the skills and confidence to:

  • Own client relationships
  • Drive revenue and account growth
  • Sell earned media solutions consultatively
  • Build a long-term career in media sales.

You’ll be supported and coached, and you’ll also be trusted with real responsibility.

What You’ll Do

  • Proactively reach out to new clients and maintain strong relationships with existing clients. Serve PR agencies, communications teams, brands, and organizations through effective outreach and communication.
  • Manage and grow a portfolio of accounts through renewals and upsells
  • Regularly identify, contact, and re-engage inactive clients to revitalize business relationships.
  • Prepare and deliver client presentations that clearly and persuasively articulate Fifth Story's value and solutions.
  • Oversee the entire sales process, from initiating conversations to securing signed agreements and closing deals.
  • Track activity, pipeline, and performance in our CRM
  • Collaborate closely with editorial, production, and media relations teams.

Skills & Background

This role is ideal for someone with:

  • 2–5 years of experience in PR, communications, media, advertising, agency services, sponsorships, partnerships, business development, or consultative sales.
  • Demonstrated experience working with clients, agencies, marketers, communications professionals, or media stakeholders.
  • Experience presenting ideas, proposals, campaigns, or solutions to clients or internal stakeholders.

Bonus: Experience with earned media or content-driven marketing.
