Technical Sales Account Manager – Canada-Wide + Select U.S. Markets Be Part of the Future of Industrial Technology

MicroWatt is entering one of the most exciting growth phases in our 40-year history. With rapid expansion across Canada, strategic entry into the United States, and explosive demand for cutting-edge industrial technologies, we are building a world-class team to support our next chapter.

We are Canada’s leader in Instrumentation, Advanced Robotics, Autonomous Drones, Industrial Gas & Flame Detection, Thermal and Acoustic Inspection, and Corrosion/Erosion Monitoring Technologies. We partner with some of the most innovative manufacturers in the world—and now we’re looking for the next pioneer to help bring these solutions to customers.

If you thrive in high-tech environments, love solving real industrial challenges, and want to help reshape the future of safety and automation in Alberta and across Canada, this is the opportunity for you.

The Opportunity

This role is based in Alberta (preferred focus: Calgary) with the ability to support accounts nationwide and select strategic customers in the United States. You’ll regularly travel within your territory and will become a trailblazer applying groundbreaking technologies to real-world industrial problems.

You will work hands-on with technologies such as:

  • Industrial robotics (Ex-rated tracked robots & ANYmal legged robots)
  • Gas & flame detection platforms
  • Autonomous drones & remote inspection systems
  • Thermal, visual, acoustic, and OGI inspection tools
  • Industrial IIoT, corrosion/erosion monitoring, and advanced sensors

Every day will be different. Every customer has a unique challenge.
And you will be the expert who helps them solve it.

Why This Role Matters

You will be on the frontline as MicroWatt expands coast-to-coast and into the U.S., playing a key role in shaping our growth, reputation, and customer relationships. This is not a typical sales role—it is a high-autonomy, high-impact position where you are encouraged to think like an entrepreneur, build long-term partnerships, and lead customers into the future of industrial automation.

We treat employees like owners and give you the tools, training, mentorship, and freedom to grow your career far beyond traditional sales.

What You’ll Do

  • Proactively identify and pursue opportunities with industrial, commercial, and municipal clients
  • Grow existing accounts while developing new relationships across Canada and select U.S. regions
  • Deliver technical presentations and demonstrations of cutting-edge solutions
  • Lead customer engagement, implementations, and after-sales support with strong technical ability
  • Represent MicroWatt as a trusted advisor and preferred vendor in key markets
  • Maintain CRM reporting and activity tracking using Salesforce, HubSpot, and Microsoft tools
  • Collaborate closely with our robotics, engineering, and operations teams
  • Support MicroWatt’s culture of continuous improvement and high safety standards

What You Bring

  • Technical diploma or degree in Instrumentation, Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline
  • Experience in industrial sales working with robotics, instrumentation, or IIoT solutions (preferred)
  • Background in mechanical or technical assembly is an asset
  • Minimum 3 years of sales experience in Mining, Metals, Chemical, Utilities, Energy, or Oil & Gas
  • Strong presentation, communication, and negotiation skills
  • Ability to thrive in industrial environments—from refineries to mines to manufacturing sites
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with excellent organization and time-management skills
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office; Salesforce experience is a strong asset
  • French language ability is considered an advantage
  • Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel up to 50%

Why Join MicroWatt?

  • Family-owned business with a high-trust, high-respect culture
  • Opportunity to sell and work directly with cutting-edge robotics and automation technologies
  • Competitive salary + bonus structure
  • Profit sharing
  • Excellent benefits (health, dental, vision)
  • Flexible schedule & hybrid work options
  • Paid time off
  • On-site gym
  • Significant opportunities for career growth and technical development

This is your chance to join an industry leader and play a defining role in shaping the future of industrial automation across Canada and the United States.
