Business Development Manager

Market Development | New Customer Growth | Remote & On the road

Base Salary: $70,000 | Target Total Compensation: $125,000 | Uncapped earnings environment |

Must live in or near Toronto

We are looking for an experienced business development professional to help expand our presence by identifying, developing and securing high-value customer relationships.

This is a senior, field-based individual contributor role with a high degree of autonomy and accountability.
You will develop your market, create and build a self-generated pipeline, establish credibility with business owners and decision-makers, uncover business needs and develop relevant digital solutions that support customer growth.

This is a new-business development role, not an ongoing account-management position.
Regular in-person activity within your assigned market is an important part of the role, while suitable opportunities in other markets may also be pursued virtually.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop and execute a market strategy focused on identifying and developing high-value prospective customer opportunities.
  • Build and maintain a strong, self-generated pipeline through market research, networking, referrals, direct outreach and disciplined prospect development.
  • Establish credibility and develop relationships with business owners, executives and key decision-makers.
  • Conduct consultative discovery to understand business objectives, growth priorities, competitive challenges and digital needs.
  • Develop relevant solutions using our portfolio of digital products and services, including Websites, Listing Management, Google Business Profile, SEO, SEM, Social Ads and AI Receptionist.
  • Navigate objections and resistance with confidence, curiosity and persistence, uncover the underlying concern and determine the appropriate path forward.
  • Clearly articulate business value and develop compelling proposals.
  • Manage opportunities from initial engagement through discovery, solution development, proposal, negotiation and customer commitment.
  • Maintain accurate opportunity, pipeline and forecast information.

What You Bring

  • Minimum five years of experience in business development, B2B new-customer acquisition or a comparable role.
  • Demonstrated success independently developing a market, identifying opportunities and building a sustainable pipeline.
  • Experience developing prospective customers from initial engagement through discovery, solution development, proposal, negotiation and commitment.
  • Strong relationship-building and communication skills with the ability to establish credibility with business owners and senior decision-makers.
  • Resilience, persistence and self-motivation, with the discipline to consistently develop new opportunities.
  • Strong commercial judgment and the ability to prioritize opportunities and manage multiple prospects.
  • Learning agility and coachability, with the ability to quickly understand new products and clearly communicate their business value.
  • Experience with Salesforce or another CRM platform.
  • Experience in digital marketing, advertising, SaaS, telecommunications, recurring-revenue services or another consultative B2B environment is an asset.
  • A valid driver’s licence and reliable access to a vehicle are mandatory. Regular travel is required.

Compensation & Ramp-Up

We want experienced salespeople to have the runway they need to build a strong territory and pipeline.

  • Base salary: $70,000
  • Target Total Compensation: $125,000
  • Guaranteed $125,000 annualized compensation level for your first 5 months
  • Weeks 1–8: Guarantee with no targets
  • Weeks 9–20: Guarantee continues and sales targets begin

Following the ramp-up period, commissions are paid based on the customer contract start date:

  • 60% at the contract start date
  • 40% three months after the start date
  • Rep Bonuses paid biweekly | No Rep bonuses holdback.

Great Benefits

At Yellow Pages, we believe in supporting our employees both professionally and personally. That’s why we offer:

  • Competitive total compensation package
  • Comprehensive health, dental and insurance benefits starting on day one
  • Group RRSP, TFSA, pension plan and telemedicine services
  • Monday-to-Friday daytime schedule with no evenings or weekends
  • Autonomy to manage your territory and your day
  • 3 weeks of vacation to start
  • Face-to-face sales allowance
  • A collaborative culture focused on learning, growth and career development

Why This Role Matters

You’ll have the autonomy to develop a market, create new opportunities and build relationships with decision-makers, while connecting businesses with digital solutions that can support their growth.
The focus is clear: develop new business, establish valuable customer relationships and contribute to the continued growth of our business.

No inherited book. No account management.
