Opportunity

We are seeking a passionate Structural Draftsperson/BIM Modeler for our Vancouver office with exceptional attention to detail and a strong desire to grow professionally. Our ideal candidate possesses a positive attitude, is a quick learner, exceptionally organized and able to work efficiently on their own or as part of a team. Key Responsibilities

  • Working closely with engineers to develop structural drawings from preliminary concepts, sketches, engineering calculations, specification sheets, and other data, to be issued for a wide range of industries.
  • Perform drafting using AutoCAD and Revit
  • Drawings include plans, sections, details, and general notes.
  • Checking and revising Drawings
  • Preparing and assisting in the release of drawings and documentation for projects
  • Actively working on improving drafting skills and increasing knowledge of structural design through self-training, in-house training, and external courses
  • Develop, edit and maintain 3D designs of building envelopes, structures, mechanical, electrical, architectural, and plumbing using Revit. Identifying conflicts within the drawings and working with the structural engineer/clients to correct
  • Accountability for schedule and efficiency
  • Ensure the models are scaled and accurate

Qualifications, Experience and skills

  • Completion of a Diploma in Architectural and Building Technology, or equivalent
  • 3+ years’ Experience using Revit required.
  • 3+ years using AutoCAD preferred.
  • Experience working with the BC Building Code
  • Ability to set up and operate a functional Revit model.
  • Ability to use AutoDesk Programs to their full capabilities.
  • Ability to create pre-fabrication spool drawings for the fabrication shop to work off.
  • Ability to ensure all deadlines are met.
  • Ability to coordinate with the Project Management team to maintain a flow of information.
  • Ability to keep accurate filing systems.
  • Ability to follow corporate policies and procedures.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work with minimal direction, while also following company standards.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $65,000.00-$105,000.00 per year
