Full job description

Footholds Therapy Center is currently seeking energetic, team oriented, and motivated individuals for full and part time Behavioral Interventionist positions.

Footholds Therapy is a growing locally owned and family run therapy center that has been operating in Nanaimo for over seven years. Our mission is to improve the lives of learners with special needs by providing high quality instruction and support.

You have a:

  • Post secondary degree, diploma, or training in a related field or experience working with special needs learners
  • First aid certification (required)
  • A clear criminal record (required)
  • Organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Compassion, empathy, and patience
  • Flexibility and an ability to work in a variety of settings

You will be expected to:

  • Implement provided therapy programming and goals
  • To implement individualized education plans within a classroom based setting
  • Follow direction of Behavioral Consultant and Lead Therapist
  • Work with learners in 1-1 and group settings
  • Work independently and as part of a team
  • Document client and goal progress
  • Communicate session summary to family
  • Work under pressure in high energy environments
  • Abide by Footholds policies and code of ethics
  • Attend staff meetings and training sessions in evenings
  • Demonstrate social, behavioral, and communication skills

Must be living in Nanaimo or surrounding area to be considered for this position.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent, Casual

Pay: $23.00-$30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 2 – 40 per week
