UnEarthed Ltd. Is seeking skilled and dedicated Excavator Operators to join our team. The ideal candidates will possess a strong mechanical knowledge and experience in operating heavy equipment, particularly excavators. The Excavator Operator will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating machinery to perform tasks such as basement excavation, trenching underground water & sewer, loading of trucks and other residential site work. Duties include (but are not limited to):

• Operate heavy machinery according to safety guidelines and project requirements.
• Basement excavation and installation of underground utilities in close proximity to existing utilities, ground personnel, and other equipment within residential areas.
• Work closely with pipe crews to install pipe - ensuring a high level of safety, communication and quality
• Ensure work is always done safely, to the highest quality standard while maintaining strong production
• Promote, execute and adhere to the company’s safety program and industry’s safety standards
• Ensure compliance with current ground disturbance regulations
• Perform daily equipment inspections and light maintenance, including cleaning, lubricating equipment, refilling equipment tanks, and report any issues promptly
• Collaborate with site supervisors and other team members to ensure project specifications and timelines are met.
• Operate two-way radios and other communication equipment
• Conduct oneself in a professional manner with honesty and integrity

Required Skills:

• 3+ years of experience as an Excavator Operator. A field test may be required.
• Exceptionally safety conscious
• Ability to read and interpret house plans, plot plans and site markings
• Able to work independently and follow instruction from the foreman/management
• Ability to operate other equipment is an asset
• Strong communication skills

Required Certifications:

• First Aid Certificate
• Construction Safety Training Systems (CSTS) Certificate
• Ground Disturbance - Level II program
• WHMIS
• Clean Drivers Abstract & Valid Drivers License
• Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent
