Full job description

About CarDoor

CarDoor is a fast-growing Canadian startup changing how vehicles are bought and sold. Through our MarketCheck™ process, we connect sellers with real dealer demand to deliver competitive, data-backed offers without the hassle of listings, negotiations, or uncertainty. We handle the paperwork, coordinate pickup, and pay customers quickly. This is a unique opportunity to join our team at a crucial phase of growth and help change an industry for the better.

About the Role

This is a dual-mandate role at the heart of CarDoor's operations, combining the consultative sales skills of an acquisition specialist with the analytical precision of a professional vehicle appraiser. You will assess vehicles accurately, present market-backed offers to consumers, negotiate to a committed sale, and ensure the downstream dealer transaction is fully supported.

You are both a trusted advisor to the customer and a data-driven evaluator. You are equally comfortable navigating pricing conversations with consumers who may have differing expectations as you are interpreting auction trends and market data. This is a high-impact, high-visibility role suited for automotive professionals who thrive in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

Vehicle Assessment and Pricing

  • Review inbound leads and assess each vehicle: condition, mileage, trim, accident history, and current market demand
  • Apply wholesale market data and auction trends to determine a defensible, competitive offer price
  • Produce accurate condition assessments that support your offer and protect the downstream dealer transaction

Consumer Outreach and Closing

  • Review customer deal details and present a fair, market-backed price with clarity and confidence
  • Explain the MarketCheck™ process in straightforward, consumer-friendly language
  • Guide customers through the pricing and commitment process, managing objections professionally
  • Develop a tailored deal approach for each transaction based on qualification notes and vehicle assessment
  • Maintain a relationship of trust and confidence throughout the full customer experience
  • Manage a high volume of daily customer interactions while maintaining quality and composure

Deal Support

  • Coordinate with the dealer team to ensure customer commitments align with and support downstream dealer transactions
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve inventory flow, appraisal accuracy, and wholesale processes
  • Maintain strong relationships with dealer buyers to facilitate smooth transaction processes

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in automotive appraisal, wholesale buying, auction management, or consultative automotive sales
  • Practical knowledge of vehicle makes, models, trims, and the condition factors that affect value
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret market data, auction results, and pricing trends
  • Proven track record of closing, not just presenting
  • Familiarity with appraisal or CRM tools (OpenLane, Accutrade, vAuto, or similar) is an asset
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to handle high-volume daily workflow
  • OMVIC Certification is a requirement

Why Join CarDoor

  • Competitive base ($80,000 - $100,000) with an incentive plan tied to monthly performance goals and potential for company share awards
  • A clearly defined, high-impact role where your performance drives real business outcomes
  • Work at the intersection of market data, technology, and consumer sales in a fast-moving Canadian automotive company
  • Join a team that values expertise, moves quickly, and is building something genuinely new in Canadian automotive
