Position Purpose:

The QA Inspector has the responsibility and duty to inspect aerospace machining details, assemblies and final components utilizing various inspection checklists, inspection equipment, regulations, and high standards.

Job Description / Responsibilities:

  • Maintain AS9100/ISO quality control standards by verifying dimensions of machined parts according to drawings using tools such as; micrometers, calipers, height gauges, optical comparators, CMMs (coordinate measuring machine) and other specific measuring equipment.
  • Perform routine first off and final inspections, and DSQAR, as required.
  • Program complex parts using CMM MCOSMOS software.
  • Establish CMM program controls, setup sheets, tooling control and file security.
  • Provide assistance to inspectors using the programmable CMM as necessary.
  • Inspection of products using CMM in accordance with our quality system procedures.
  • Support final inspection with AS9100 reports and/ or CMM inspections.
  • Perform miscellaneous quality assurance activities such as supporting final inspection, training inspectors/ programmers, etc.
  • Report any deviations of tolerances to supervisor.
  • Maintain, repair and calibrate measuring instruments.
  • Complete and maintain inspection records (NC, FAI, COC, etc).
  • Inspect and verify incoming parts / materials against paperwork, record any shortages and reject damaged goods.
  • Affix appropriate tags to approved or defective products.
  • Assist in problem solving with quality and production departments.
  • Please note that the duties and responsibilities outlined are not exhaustive and that you may be expected to perform other reasonable duties and responsibilities should the need arise.
  • Report directly to Quality Manager.

Qualifications, Skills & Abilities Required:

  • Aerospace / AS9100 manufacturing experience required.
  • 3-5 years experience in quality department.
  • Familiar with SPC chart
  • Proficiency with computers
  • Ability to complete NCR’s, RCCA reports
  • Post-secondary education in a related field, certificate in Quality Assurance/Quality Technician preferred.
  • Ability to read blueprint drawings and specifications.
  • Interpersonal skills (including working effectively with others and influencing skills)
  • Adaptability (able to respond flexibly to changing circumstances, aligns own actions with the changing needs of the business)

Pay: $27.00-$32.00 per hour
