JOB DESCRIPTION:

Jack’s Auto Body (CARSTAR Onoway) is looking for a highly motivated, outgoing person to join our team!

The Collision Damage Estimator / Appraiser is responsible for inspecting damaged autobody vehicles, creating a repair plan and ensuring a smooth repair process.

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Inspect damaged vehicles to create a repair plan. (Body / Mechanical / Structural)
  • Complete estimates based on insurance policies and repair procedures.
  • Communicates repairs required to customers / insurance companies.
  • Builds relationships with vehicle owners, repair technicians, and insurance personnel to negotiate costs and sell work.
  • Use of Qapter and Mitchell Programs to write estimates and interact with insurance companies.
  • Negotiate supplements with insurance companies as needed.
  • As a customer service representative, this individual stays in contact with the customer during the entire repair process, works to address all customer concerns, and ensures satisfaction when repairs are complete.

PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS AND SKILLS:

  • Must enjoy working with people, working around cars and trucks, and working with computer software programs.
  • Must be able to build relationships with customers, insurance representatives, and technicians. Good communication skills are essential.
  • Must have self-confidence, enjoy learning, and pay close attention to detail.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have knowledge of vehicle components and repair processes.
  • Time management skills required.
  • A high school education is expected with post-secondary education in collision repair a plus.
  • Industry experience and formal estimating training is preferred.
  • A good understanding of the vehicle repair and insurance processes are necessary to communicate effectively with the customer, insurer, and repair personnel.

  • Monday to Friday 8:00 am – 5:00 pm
