Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Commercial Property Manager to oversee a portfolio of office and retail properties, including nationally recognized tenants. This role requires a strong understanding of complex property operations, tenant expectations at a national level, and the ability to manage assets with a high degree of professionalism and strategic insight.
The successful candidate will play a key role in driving operational performance, supporting leasing initiatives, and maintaining institutional-quality standards across the portfolio.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the full operational management of a portfolio of office and retail properties anchored by national and institutional tenants
- Build and maintain strong, professional relationships with tenants, ownership, and external partners
- Coordinate closely with leasing teams on deal execution, tenant onboarding, renewals, and expansions
- Support the leasing process by managing documentation flow, tenant requirements, and ensuring smooth transition from deal to occupancy
- Interpret and administer complex lease agreements, ensuring compliance with all terms and conditions
- Prepare and manage annual budgets, reforecasts, and detailed financial reporting packages
- Monitor rent collections, recoveries, and reconciliations with a strong attention to detail
- Oversee service contracts, vendor procurement, and performance to ensure quality and cost efficiency
- Lead capital projects, tenant improvements, and base building initiatives with minimal disruption to operations
- Conduct regular site inspections to ensure a high standard of presentation and maintenance
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, risk management policies, and industry best practices
- Contribute to strategic planning and asset performance initiatives in collaboration with ownership and asset management
Skills
- 7+ years of experience managing commercial real estate portfolios, including office and retail assets
- Demonstrated experience working with national or institutional tenants
- Strong understanding of leasing processes, deal structures, and lease administration
- Proven ability to manage complex, high-profile properties with a high level of professionalism
- Advanced financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Proficiency with Yardi, MRI, or similar property management systems
- Professional designation (CPM, RPA) or progress toward certification is an asset
- Post-secondary education in real estate, business, or a related discipline preferred
