Full job description

At RIMEX, we operate under one simple premise: provide our customers with the best products and services, period. Our teams combine engineering, manufacturing, technology, and field experience to deliver dependable solutions for demanding industrial environments. We are hiring a Junior Mobile App Developer to join our Langley team and contribute to the continued development, reliability, and evolution of the TyreSense product line.

Position Summary

The Junior Mobile App Developer designs, develops, tests, documents, deploys, and supports secure web applications and services used within the TyreSense ecosystem. The role works across front-end interfaces, server-side services, databases, APIs, integrations, real-time application functions, and development tooling. The successful candidate will translate operational and product requirements into reliable, maintainable software while working closely with software, DevOps, QA, support, product, data, and technical stakeholders.

This is a hands-on growth role for a developer with solid C# fundamentals who can learn quickly, accept review and feedback, investigate issues methodically, and help improve existing applications. The position requires care, curiosity, and a practical understanding that field users may work with limited connectivity, varied device capabilities, and time-sensitive operational tasks.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Solid foundation in C# and modern .NET development, including asynchronous programming and object-oriented design.
  • Experience with .NET MAUI, Xamarin, XAML-based application development, or demonstrated ability to learn cross-platform application development quickly.
  • Understanding of MVVM, data binding, dependency injection, navigation, application lifecycle, and reusable component design.
  • Experience consuming REST APIs, JSON services, authentication flows, and real-time or event-driven services.
  • Experience with Android, iOS, or Windows application development, debugging, packaging, or device testing.
  • Understanding of mobile permissions, secure storage, connectivity changes, local persistence, and error handling.
  • Experience with Git-based source control, peer review, issue tracking, automated builds, and structured release practices.
  • Ability to troubleshoot across application code, device behaviour, operating-system restrictions, APIs, networks, and connected hardware.
  • Experience with Bluetooth, USB/OTG, device communications, telemetry, industrial applications, or IoT is an asset.
  • Experience with SQLite or comparable local persistence, offline synchronization, push notifications, and background processing is an asset.
  • Experience with automated unit, integration, or UI testing on mobile platforms is an asset.
  • Experience with TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, ASP.NET Core, or shared backend services is an asset.
  • Experience using GitHub Copilot or another approved AI-assisted development tool is an asset when used within security and data-governance requirements.
  • One to three years of software-development experience is preferred; strong co-op, portfolio, or equivalent practical experience may be considered.
  • Post-secondary education in computer science, software engineering, information technology, or a related field is preferred; equivalent practical experience may be considered.
  • Clear spoken and written English communication skills.
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.

Core Competencies

  • Practical mobile and device troubleshooting
  • Careful, secure coding habits
