Altra is hiring for 2 positions to work out of its headquarters in Hamilton, ON. Heavy equipment, aerial or forklift mechanic experience is an asset.

Altra mechanics are responsible for the repair and servicing of Altra's aerial rental fleet and customer equipment. The role includes the maintenance and repair of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, gas and diesel systems on a variety of equipment and tools while using a high degree of independent judgment.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Maintenance and repair of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on a variety of rental and customer equipment and tools
  • Troubleshooting equipment
  • Service documentation

Job Requirements

  • Mechanical background knowledge, particularly with various engines
  • Knowledge of construction equipment is an asset
  • Understanding of schematics and diagrams
  • Own the tools applicable to the position
  • Exhibit strong teamwork, verbal, and written skills
  • Superior customer service
  • Valid driver’s license is required

Education and Experience:

  • Knowledge of tooling and equipment used in the above trades.
  • Ability to follow established procedures and practices
  • Ability to read instruction, schematics, etc.
  • A strong commitment to all health and safety guidelines
  • Good communication skills
  • Problem-solving ability
  • Good physical strength and stamina

Pay: $24.00-$38.00 per hour

Expected hours: 44 per week
