Full job description
The opportunity
The Investment Analyst, Dynamic Asset Allocation supports the DAA team in identifying and assessing opportunities to adjust the Fund’s asset mix in response to evolving macroeconomic conditions, market valuations and risk premia. The role conducts cross-asset research and analysis, develops analytical tools and models, and prepares clear insights and materials to support total-fund portfolio decisions.
Who you'll work with
The Investment Analyst is a member of the Dynamic Asset Allocation (DAA) team within Total Fund Management and reports to the Director, Dynamic Asset Allocation. The role works closely with DAA colleagues and regularly collaborates with investment professionals and subject matter experts across Total Fund Management, Global Investment Strategy, Risk, Beta and Trading, Capital Markets and other Investments teams. The Analyst contributes analysis and materials for senior investment decision-making forums and participates in cross-functional initiatives that support total-fund strategy and portfolio positioning.
What you'll do
- Conducts research on global macroeconomic and financial market developments, assessing implications for asset class returns, valuations, risk premia and total-fund positioning.
- Performs cross-asset portfolio analysis and scenario assessments to support the evaluation of potential asset mix shifts and other total-fund investment strategy initiatives.
- Builds, maintains and enhances analytical, quantitative and econometric models that support market analysis, portfolio allocation and investment decision-making.
- Prepares clear, accurate and decision-oriented presentations, reports and analytical materials for senior investment leaders and investment decision-making forums.
- Maintains and contributes to the team's library of financial and economic data, charts, dashboards and monitoring tools, ensuring information is reliable, current and accessible.
- Synthesizes complex research and quantitative findings into concise insights and communicates the key implications to team members and stakeholders.
- Integrates AI-enabled tools into research, modelling, programming and other daily workflows to improve the quality, efficiency and scalability of analysis, while applying appropriate review and judgement.
- Contributes to cross-functional projects and team initiatives, collaborating effectively with colleagues across Investments to advance total-fund priorities.
- This role has no direct people management or budget accountability. The Investment Analyst is accountable for delivering assigned research, analysis and modelling activities and contributing to team objectives through effective collaboration and execution of work.
- The Investment Analyst exercises judgement in conducting research, interpreting data, selecting analytical approaches and prioritizing day-to-day activities within established objectives and guidance. The role develops analyses and recommendations that support asset allocation and portfolio positioning decisions. Significant investment recommendations and decisions that may impact portfolio positioning are reviewed by senior members of the team and the appropriate investment decision-making forums.
What you'll need

- A graduate degree in finance and economics is an asset, but is not required.
- Progress toward, or completion of, the CFA designation is an asset.
- Solid grounding in, or demonstrated interest in, economics, financial markets, asset allocation, portfolio construction and multi-asset investing.
- Ability to integrate AI tools into daily workflows, including research, modelling and programming, while validating outputs and applying sound judgement.

- Strong quantitative and analytical capabilities, with the ability to work with financial and economic data, build models and draw sound conclusions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word, with intermediate to advanced capability appropriate to analytical and presentation work.
- At least one year of relevant experience in investment management, financial markets, economic research, quantitative analysis or a related field; relevant internships or co-op experience may be considered.
