Admissions Adviser — Confidential Educational Institution

Location: Calgary, AlbertaWork arrangement: Full-time, on-siteCompensation: $25 per hour plus performance-based commission after probation

This position operates primarily from our Calgary campus and plays an important role within the Admissions Department.

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Admissions Adviser with a successful background in admissions sales and student recruitment.

The Admissions Adviser guides prospective students from their initial inquiry through program selection, application, enrollment and preparation for starting their studies.

The successful candidate will combine consultative sales ability with professionalism, ethical judgment, consistent follow-up and a genuine commitment to helping students make informed career decisions.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Contact prospective students through telephone, email, text and video meetings.
  • Conduct professional telephone, virtual and in-person information sessions.
  • Understand prospective students’ career goals, experience and educational needs.
  • Recommend suitable programs based on student eligibility and career objectives.
  • Explain programs, schedules, tuition, admission requirements and next steps accurately.
  • Convert qualified prospective students into enrollments.
  • Follow up consistently with new, active and previously contacted leads.
  • Manage an assigned pipeline and prioritize high-intent opportunities.
  • Meet individual enrollment, conversion, activity and student-start expectations.
  • Maintain accurate and complete records in the CRM.
  • Collect and review required admissions documentation.
  • Coordinate with student finance, compliance and academic departments.
  • Support enrolled students through the preparation and program-start process.
  • Follow institutional policies and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in coaching, training, call reviews and performance meetings.
  • Maintain professional and ethical communication throughout the admissions process.

Required Qualifications

  • Previous admissions sales experience is required.
  • Demonstrated success converting prospective students into enrollments.
  • Experience conducting student information sessions and handling admissions objections.
  • Understanding of student recruitment, follow-up and enrollment processes.
  • Strong spoken and written English.
  • Proven ability to meet enrollment, sales or conversion targets.
  • Strong consultative selling and objection-handling skills.
  • Experience using a CRM to manage leads, opportunities and follow-ups.
  • Strong organization, time management and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage a large pipeline without losing follow-up opportunities.
  • Ability to work independently while accepting regular coaching and feedback.
  • Strong ethical judgment and commitment to accurate student guidance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with a Canadian private career college or post-secondary institution.
  • Knowledge of Alberta’s private career-training environment.
  • Experience supporting students from initial inquiry through program start.
  • Familiarity with HubSpot or a comparable CRM.
  • Experience working with funding, finance or admissions-documentation teams.
  • Established record of achieving or exceeding monthly enrollment targets.

Candidates without direct admissions sales experience will not be prioritized.

Performance Expectations

Successful advisers are expected to:

  • Consistently achieve assigned enrollment and conversion objectives.
  • Conduct effective and professional information sessions.
  • Maintain timely and complete follow-up with assigned prospective students.
  • Keep accurate CRM notes, activities and enrollment records.
  • Produce strong student-start and retention outcomes.
  • Maintain reliable attendance and availability.
  • Follow all ethical, institutional and regulatory requirements.

New employees will receive structured onboarding and graduated performance expectations during probation.

Compensation

  • Base compensation: $25 per hour.
  • Probationary period: Three months.
  • Eligibility for performance-based commission begins after successful completion of probation.
  • Commission is calculated according to the institution’s written compensation policy.
  • Commission eligibility is subject to student-start, cancellation, documentation and compliance requirements.
  • Commission is uncapped for eligible sales.
