BAND ADMINISTRATOR

$75,000 – $95,000

Adam Alexander & Associates has been retained Ts’kw’aylaxw First Nation to assist them in their search for a Band Administrator.

Ts’kw’aylaxw First Nation in one of eleven member communities in the St’at’imc Nation. It is located in the Pavillion Valley, near Marble Canyon, minutes from Lillooet, B.C., a gem of natural beauty in the central interior of B.C. From snow –capped mountains to the panoramic views of the Fraser River, the scenic wonders will allow you to enjoy the natural wonders of the area. The region abounds and beckons nature lovers with pristine wilderness, rivers, great climate and outstanding adventures, while the flora and fauna of the area are a photographers dream.

This challenging and rewarding opportunity is the key member of the management team and will appeal to the professional that is a self-driven leader, knowledgeable and experienced in the management of indigenous programs and services. Reporting to and working with the Chief and Council, the primary mandate of the position is to provide leadership, direction and overall management of the administration business and community affairs.

The essential responsibilities will include:

· Acts as a resource to Chief & Council by providing advise and recommendations to ensure sound business and legal decisions;

· Develops and maintains good working relationships with C&C, staff and Ts’kw’aylaxw First Nation members;

· Provides management, leadership and direction to all department managers and business affairs to ensure proper program and service delivery;

· Development and administration of business plans, policies, funding agreements, budgets, capital development, projects and community services;

· Plans, organizes, reports and evaluates management systems, policies and operating procedures, and human resources management;

· Manages the overall operating budget in conjunction with the Finance Manager;

· Liaises with various governments, agencies, industry leaders and business managers to further the goals and objectives of the organization.

The challenging responsibilities of this position will appeal to the professional who possess a university degree in Business, Public Administration or Indigenous Governance, or equivalent, and is supported by a minimum of 6 years demonstrated senior management experience, preferably within an Indigenous environment, including experience with funding agencies, culture, title and rights, and traditions. The successful candidate must also possess knowledge and experience in human resources management, finance, economic development and community planning. A demonstrated ability to deal effectively with all levels of the organization and community is a must.

Other key requirements include excellent communication skills, strong organizational skills, proficiency team building, an ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with internal and external contacts, an ability to work collaboratively as a team, perseverance and resilience, a strong desire to succeed, and good computer skills with Microsoft office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.). The ability to adapt, undertake multiple tasks and respond quickly to changing priorities is imperative.
