Key responsibilities:

  • Preparing instructional and testing materials relevant to the course being taught.
  • Instructing/teaching/testing.
  • Marking/grading of exams and assignments etc.
  • Providing constructive feedback to students.
  • Maintaining regular office hours.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree, Ph.D. or Ph.D. candidate preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, in the English language is required.
  • Background/specialization in subject area required.
  • Demonstrated competence in post-secondary teaching required.
  • Empathetic approach to the instructional needs and concerns of students is required.
  • Previous teaching in the subject area or related area would be an asset.

Additional information:

Course schedule: CLAS on Tuesday 14:30-16:20 THTR on Thursday 14:30-16:20 - Introduction to Theatre is the foundational course of UM's Theatre Program and contains both a lecture/discussion component and a studio class component. - Ability to lecture on introductory concepts in the understanding of theatre, theatre history, and the textual study of a diverse selection of plays is required. - Sufficient experience in the practice of theatre to lead students through basic acting techniques is required. - Master of Fine Arts is considered an asset for this position.
