ABOUT THE ROLE
Reporting to the Manager, Group Benefits, the Senior Account Executive, Strategic Accounts is responsible for the acquisition, growth, profitability and retention of Saskatchewan Blue Cross’ largest and most strategically important Group Benefits clients.
You will lead complex sales opportunities through the full client life cycle – market development, discovery, solution design, RFP leadership, finalist presentations, negotiations, implementation and ongoing relationship management. You will also influence product, underwriting, and market strategy through your insights and advisor relationships.
This role is based in Saskatoon or Regina with hybrid flexibility from anywhere within Saskatchewan to either or both of these offices.
WHAT YOU GAIN IN THIS ROLE
- Competitive Compensation & Premium Benefits & Wellbeing
- This role combines the security of a market-competitive base salary with performance based variable compensation designed to recognize strong performance. Full compensation details will be discussed early in the recruitment process.
- Expense account, mileage reimbursement and a full technology package to keep you connected, efficient and focused on relationships
- 100% employer-paid health insurance benefits
- Generous vacation and flex (personal) day offerings
- Hybrid flexibility anywhere in Saskatchewan
- Dedicated private office space
- Work culture that values balance, autonomy and whole-person wellbeing
- Strategic Influence & Autonomy
- Lead Saskatchewan’s largest employer relationships and advisor partnerships
- Influence product, underwriting and market strategy

- Exceptional Client Experience & Local Advantage
- Represent a carrier with service metrics that stand out in the industry
- Thousands of in-person member service interactions annually
- Saskatchewan-based service teams, fast decision-making and accessible leadership
These metrics give you a powerful competitive advantage in advisor conversations, RFP’s and finalize presentations.
- Professional Growth & Industry Exposure
- Paid tuition support for applicable designations and ongoing professional development
- Paid attendance at industry conferences and advisor events
- Opportunities to represent Saskatchewan Blue Cross at market events, panels and strategic engagements
- Direct collaboration with executive leadership on strategic pursuits
- A dedicated team behind you
- Dedicated service, support and renewal teams to support you in quoting, renewal, implementation, reporting, service and client needs
- Purpose & Community Impact
- Join an organization that has invested in Saskatchewan communities for over 80 years
- Participate in community initiatives, volunteer programs and local partnerships
- Work for a mission-driven organization committed to whole-health support for members and communities
WHY CHOOSE SASKATCHEWAN BLUE CROSS VS A NATIONAL CARRIER?
Experienced Group Benefits professionals know the differences between regional carriers and national insurers. Here’s why this role stands out:
- Faster decisions, less bureaucracy – National carriers often require multiple layers of approval for pricing, exceptions and negotiations. At SBC you have local decision makers, direct access to leadership and defined autonomy for investment decisions. This means faster turnaround, stronger advisor relationships and more competitive wins!
- Superior service metrics you can sell – You’ll represent a carrier with 92% FCR, 94% satisfaction and 75% of calls answered within 2 minutes. These numbers outperform many national carriers and give you a clear advantage in competitive pursuits.
- Real influence on strategy – Different from national carriers, our Account Executives’ insights help shape competitive positioning, RFP strategy, Advisor engagement and market development.
- Local presence, community trust – Saskatchewan Blue Cross has served Saskatchewan for over 80 years. Employers trust the brand. Advisors value the accessibility. Members appreciate the local service. You’re not selling a distant corporation – you’re representing a community-rooted organization.
- A role designed for senior talent – It’s a senior strategic position. The opportunity to shape strategic relationships and contribute directly to the future growth of our Group Benefits business.
You get the freedom and impact that national carriers rarely offer.
