Account Manager - Industrial B2B Sales

Swagelok Medicine Hat a division of Southern Alberta Fluid System Technologies Inc. is seeking a highly professional, relationship‑driven Account Manager to support, maintain, and grow our existing customer base within industrial and technical markets. This role is ideal for an experienced B2B sales professional who excels in long, complex sales cycles and brings a consultative, solutions‑focused approach to every customer interaction. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong commercial discipline, technical curiosity, and the ability to influence multiple stakeholders over extended timelines.

About the Role

The Account Manager will be responsible for managing key customer relationships, identifying growth opportunities, and promoting Swagelok’s products, value‑added solutions, and services. This position requires consistent field engagement, strategic account planning, and the ability to navigate industrial environments with confidence and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Relationship & Sales Management

  • Maintain strong, long‑term relationships with assigned customers and understand their evolving needs.
  • Maintain and expend Vendor and Customer Managed Inventories
  • Provide timely, accurate quotations and product information aligned with customer expectations.
  • Deliver solution‑oriented service to existing customers and qualified prospects.
  • Promote Swagelok’s full portfolio of products, services, and value‑added solutions within the territory.

Planning & Execution

  • Prioritize activities to support annual sales objectives and territory growth targets.
  • Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date account information in the CRM.
  • Develop structured sales plans with clear goals, next steps, and measurable outcomes.
  • Build and manage a healthy pipeline of new and existing business opportunities.

Customer Engagement

  • Conduct regular in‑person visits and maintain consistent communication with key accounts.
  • Retain existing business while actively prospecting for new revenue opportunities.
  • Collaborate with internal sales, service, and technical teams using a team‑selling approach.

Required Experience & Qualifications

  • Proven success selling into industrial, manufacturing, or technical environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex B2B sales cycles involving multiple stakeholders.
  • Track record of closing high‑value, consultative deals through relationship‑driven selling.
  • Experience in account management, sales, or customer‑facing roles.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and CRM management skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and maintain disciplined follow‑through.

Technical & Industrial Fit

  • Experience selling capital equipment, engineered solutions, industrial services, or complex systems is preferred.
  • Comfortable reading technical documentation, specifications, or drawings (engineering degree not required).
  • Ability to translate technical features into ROI‑focused business cases for customers.

Personal Attributes

  • Builds credibility through consistency, expertise, and follow‑through.
  • Views long sales cycles as a strategic challenge, not a frustration.
  • Self‑directed, organized, and comfortable working independently in the field.

Role Expectations

Physical Requirements

  • Sitting and driving for extended periods.

Travel Requirements
