Full job description

The Erindale Academy is seeking an exceptional educator to help redefine what middle school

learning can be.

We are launching School 2.0, an innovative educational model that combines project-based

learning, AI literacy, design thinking, entrepreneurship, outdoor education, and interdisciplinary

learning to prepare students for the future.

This is not a traditional teaching position.

We are looking for a teacher who believes students learn best by solving real problems, creating

meaningful projects, collaborating with others, and connecting classroom learning to the real

world.

If you enjoy designing engaging learning experiences rather than simply delivering lessons, we

would love to hear from you.

About School 2.0

School 2.0 develops students through three core intelligences:

● AI Literacy

● Hands-on Intelligence

● Social Intelligence

Students explore authentic questions by investigating their classroom, school, community, local

environment, and global issues through interdisciplinary projects that integrate mathematics,

science, technology, humanities, arts, leadership, and entrepreneurship.

What You'll Do

You will:

● Design and facilitate engaging project-based learning experiences.

● Guide students through inquiry and design thinking.

● Integrate AI tools responsibly into learning.

● Lead outdoor and place-based learning experiences.

● Connect curriculum expectations across multiple subject areas.

● Facilitate collaborative student projects.

● Coach students in communication, presentation, reflection, and leadership.

● Build strong relationships with students and families.

● Assess student growth through portfolios, presentations, reflections, and authentic

evidence of learning rather than relying solely on traditional tests.

Example Student Projects

Our students may:

● Redesign classroom learning spaces.

● Investigate energy use in the school.

● Design school gardens.

● Study biodiversity in local parks.

● Build community improvement projects.

● Develop youth innovation proposals.

● Create AI-assisted solutions for authentic community problems.

● Present projects to community partners and local organizations.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has:

Required

● Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) certification (or eligibility)

● Intermediate Division qualifications preferred

● Experience teaching Grades 7–10

● Strong classroom management skills

● Excellent communication and collaboration skills

● Growth mindset and willingness to innovate

Preferred

Experience with one or more of the following:

● Project-Based Learning (PBL)

● Inquiry-Based Learning

● STEM Education

● Design Thinking

● Maker Education

● AI in Education

● Coding or Robotics

● Outdoor Education

● Environmental Education

● Entrepreneurship Education

● Universal Design for Learning (UDL)

● Assessment for Learning

● Educational Technology

The Ideal Candidate

You are someone who:

● Inspires curiosity.

● Loves creating meaningful learning experiences.

● Thinks beyond textbooks.

● Enjoys working outdoors with students.

● Is comfortable using emerging technologies.

● Encourages creativity and innovation.

● Believes students should build, investigate, design, create, and reflect.

● Wants to help shape the future of education rather than simply teach within existing

models.

Why Join The Erindale Academy?

At The Erindale Academy, you will have the opportunity to:

● Help build an innovative School 2.0 model from the ground up.

● Collaborate with a passionate team of educators.

● Integrate AI into authentic learning.

● Develop interdisciplinary curriculum.

● Lead real-world student projects.

● Create meaningful community partnerships.

● Inspire the next generation of innovators, leaders, and changemakers.

Our Educational Philosophy

We believe education should develop:

● Critical thinkers

● Creative problem-solvers

● Responsible AI users

● Compassionate leaders

● Skilled collaborators

● Curious lifelong learners

Students should not simply learn about the world—they should actively improve it through

meaningful action and purposeful projects.

Pay: $45,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
