For more than 70 years, we've been making a difference, in every degree.
At Master, our people are the driving force behind our success. As Canada's largest HVAC-R distributor and one of North America's industry leaders, we're proud to bring together more than 2,000 employees across nearly 100 locations in Canada and the United States.
Every day, our teams help deliver innovative solutions that improve comfort, energy efficiency, and building performance. Through collaboration, expertise, and a commitment to doing what's right, we create lasting value for our customers, partners, and communities.
Guided by our purpose — Improving people's lives, in every degree — we empower our employees to grow, make a meaningful impact, and build rewarding careers in an environment where people, teamwork, and continuous improvement come first.
Reporting to the Director, Inventory and supporting warehouses and branches nationally, Master is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Inventory Operations Manager to lead our inventory management strategy and execution. This role will be pivotal in driving significant strategic initiatives, including the implementation of SAP, standardization of daily operational procedures, and the development of a more robust inventory classification system. Beyond strategic projects, the Inventory Operations Manager will be responsible for the daily monitoring of inventory health, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and optimal stock levels to support business objectives. The ideal candidate will possess a strong blend of strategic thinking, operational expertise, and a proven track record in project management within a complex inventory environment.
What you will accomplish with us:
- Lead the inventory workstream for the SAP implementation, focusing on inventory management modules (MM, WM).
- Partner with IT, Finance, Procurement, and business stakeholders to define requirements, support configuration, oversee UAT, and ensure successful data migration and user training.
Standardization of Daily Operations:
- Analyze and improve inventory processes, develop standardized operating procedures (SOPs), and monitor KPIs to drive operational excellence and continuous improvement.
Inventory Classification:
- Lead the redesign and implementation of inventory classification strategies (e.g., ABC analysis, demand-based classification) aligned with business and supply chain needs.
Inventory Accuracy & Integrity:
- Oversee cycle counts, physical inventories, and discrepancy resolution to maintain inventory accuracy.
- Ensure data integrity, compliance with company policies and regulations, strong internal controls, and audit readiness.
Inventory Optimization:
- Monitor inventory levels, aging, and obsolescence to reduce excess stock.
- Collaborate with Demand Planning, Procurement, and Production to optimize inventory and provide insights for strategic decision-making.
Team Leadership & Development:
- Lead, mentor, and develop the inventory team by setting clear expectations, providing regular feedback, and fostering a collaborative, high-performing culture.
What You Bring to Our Team:
Minimum 5 years of inventory management experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership role.
Experience leading or supporting SAP implementation projects (MM, WM modules) is highly preferred.
Strong knowledge of inventory control, warehousing, demand planning, and inventory optimization best practices.
Proven ability to develop and standardize operational processes and procedures.
Proficiency with SAP or other ERP systems and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Bilingual (French & English) preferred: Strong command of both languages as the role requires daily interactions with stakeholders in all across Canada.
Strong analytical, project management, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Willingness to travel occasionally within Canada and the U.S.
Base Salary Range: $90,000 – $110,000 annually
- Supplemental Pay Types: Annual bonus
Competitive Benefits: In addition to a rewarding career within our team, we offer
- Medical and dental coverage from day one, along with short and long-term disability protection
- Contribution to a collective registered retirement savings plan upon starting your role.
- Wellness spending account
- An employee assistance program including psychological, financial, and legal support.
- Access to telemedicine from the beginning of your employment.
- Reimbursement of professional association membership fees.
- Early vacation program.
- Work–life balance supported through a hybrid work policy.
