About Life Sync Mental Health & Wellness

Life Sync Mental Health & Wellness opened in 2023 in Paris, Ontario as a solo practice with a clear long‑term vision: to grow intentionally into a multi‑disciplinary, values‑driven clinic offering therapy across the lifespan. Our expansion has been thoughtful and community‑focused, prioritizing high‑quality care, grounded clinicians, and a collaborative internal culture.

We currently provide individual and relationship counselling for clients aged 12+. As we continue to grow, we are expanding our services to include dedicated therapy for children, youth, and families. With the opening of our Waterloo location, we are seeking a skilled, grounded clinician who is aligned with our mission and excited to contribute to a practice built with purpose, integrity, and care.

Position Overview

Contract Adult, Couples/Relationship Psychotherapist or Social Worker

15+ hours/week (10 hours in‑person)

Daytime, evening or weekend

Hybrid model (in‑person + virtual)

You will work as an independent contractor, delivering evidence‑based, trauma‑informed psychotherapy in alignment with your regulatory college and Life Sync’s clinical standards. This role offers autonomy, flexibility, and the opportunity to help shape a growing clinic.

Qualifications

  • Masters of Arts in Counselling Psychology, Master’s degree in Social Work, Counselling Psychology, or related field
  • Ability to practice the controlled act of psychotherapy
  • Minimum three years counselling experience
  • Registration in good standing with CRPO or OCSWSSW
  • Minimum $5M liability insurance
  • Post‑graduate training in at least one evidence‑based modality (e.g. Internal Family Systems (IFS), Eye Movement and Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR), Deep Brain Reorienting (DBR), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Narrative Therapy, Brief Solution Focused (BSF), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), and Relational Family Therapy, etc.) and one evidence-based couple’s modality (i.e. Emotion Focused Couples Therapy (EFCT), The Gottman Method, etc.)
  • Experience supporting adults, couples/relationships
  • Competence working with diverse populations (e.g., LGBTQ+, racialized, international, Indigenous, post‑secondary students, faith‑based communities)
  • Strong understanding of relevant Ontario legislation (PHIPA, Mental Health Act, HCCA, CFSA, RHPA, AODA)
  • Ability to maintain accurate, complete clinical documentation
  • Growth‑oriented, self‑reflective clinical practice
  • Proficiency with EMRs and practice management software
  • Personal laptop/device for virtual sessions
  • Vulnerable Sector Check
  • Additional languages (Spanish, French, etc.) considered an asset

Responsibilities

  • Provide psychotherapy using evidence‑based modalities within CRPO/OCSWSSW standards
  • Work independently with minimal supervision while engaging in consultation/supervision as needed
  • Maintain ethical, trauma‑informed, culturally responsive practice
  • Develop assessments, treatment plans, and ongoing case notes
  • Offer short‑term and long‑term counselling
  • Collaborate with families, care givers, and community providers when appropriate
  • Utilize Life Sync’s hybrid model (in‑person, virtual video, phone, walk‑and‑talk)
  • Use Colib.io practice management software (training provided)
  • Participate in optional opportunities to develop groups/workshops
  • Uphold Life Sync’s values of professionalism, compassion, integrity, and client‑centred care
