PURCHASING ASSISTANT

We are currently seeking a detail-oriented Purchasing Assistant to join our Toronto team. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of multitasking in a fast-paced work environment and is passionate about developing product knowledge to help drive growth for the company. Our Toronto head office is located near the Toronto Pearson International Airport.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Principal Responsibilities

• Create and submit purchase orders to suppliers
• Receive supplier invoices in our NAV system
• Analyze purchasing trends and make recommendations to manager
• Physical checks of inventory and rectify inventory discrepancies
• Reduce product shrinkage by ensuring products going out of date are well managed
• Work with merchandisers to ensure products are properly displayed and tagged
• Respond to supplier emails
• Ensure customer requested items are ordered and tracked

Key Competencies

• Advanced Excel and Microsoft applications skills required
• Highly organized with extreme attention to detail, numbers, and analytics
• Multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Keen learner to develop thorough product knowledge
• Exceptional communication and writing skills

Education and Experience

• Formal college or university education completed, preferably a Business/Accounting program
• Minimum 2 years of purchasing experience
