Canadian Tire Distribution is a good gig if you can get it. Good benefits, good salary, good perks. They do a lot of cross departmental training and will cover training and some education in relevant fields. Their cross departmental communication is quite good, the communication between the floor and the office is also good and they put extra effort into ensuring that there is communication opportunities between the floor and the top levels. And they regularly perform process audits and review and implement suggestions put forward by the ppl doing the jobs. Overall I've found them to be beyond compare in all these areas.
They do however continuously push. If you break a record, they expect that level to become standard and aim for new records. It can easily lead to burnout, and have known a few ppl who burned out because of that place.
I got laid off during the recession
