Unfriendly workplace with little room for advancement
Labourer (Former Employee) – Langley, BC – 2 December 2015
- Agree to hire at one rate, then say they can't justify it and pay less.
- Abrasive coworkers and management is disconnected from employees: lack of communication.
- The work itself is a lot of hardscape construction, simple work, don't expect to be trained or helped - management states that in the interview, so only come to this company with hardscape experience or it will be a rough ride.
- Plenty of heavy lifting so be prepared for that. Not much softscape or landscape install. The work generally involves a lot of preparation before stonework begins, workers typically stay at one site for a few weeks, doing odd-jobs at other sites inbetween.
