Managers do not take into account safety concerns of employees

The management here is well below par. When asking for time off - the management would approve it verbally, I would send emails (as the automated system to submit for vacation didn't work), and when the time came for me to have my vacation - they would have me scheduled and demand I come in - in spite of being told months in advance. In fact I gave my notice 2 weeks before a trip to go away - and they still scheduled me during the trip to be working.
Management also applies a double standard. I had to schedule rides for other employees, but my manager when I asked for a ride once - told me he didn't run a taxi service. As well they don't apply other rules equally.
The only upside to this position is the people you work with and the relative ease of the work. Though be forewarned - it's lots of dull moments interspersed with periods of sheer panic.
