SunLife was a good company to work for,but as company changed hands the job changed
Pensions Administrator (Former Employee) – Basingstoke Hampshire – 1 June 2015
Days could be busy dealing with customers queries and requests involved with their pension benefits.
I learned how to deal with customers from a variety of life situations, assist with complaints and make sure they were passed onto appropriate departments. Also how to see through a request from start to finish and accomplish a satisfactory resolution which the client and the company were happy with.
Sometime difficult cases needed extra time with dealing with and I learnt how to treat customers fairly, honestly, respectfully and with empathy.
I had a good relationship with managerial staff, and found it easy dealing with them on day to day basis if required.
I made good friendships over the years,we all liked to help and assist in anyway to make the job easier and more enjoyable.
I found the hardest part of the job explaining to elderly clients that the pension would not pay out as much as they expected.
All parts of the job was nice, but assisting clients with complaints or parts of the pension they did not understand was very rewarding and satisfying. To be able to help them with understanding the legality of pension payments was rewarding as pensions can be very difficult if not understood correctly
