A typical day at work would be to Field phone calls for Case Workers Send out adoption information packages to prospective parents Receive and acknowledge mail from Birth Parents/Adoptive Parents and/or Adoptees Filing Photocopying Processing information packages Mailing Searching, updating, merging and creating plans on KiDS database Carry out searches at Electoral Office Create payment forms Type letters Creating new files Organise and process seminar material Re-organise filing system
I learned how to carry out searches at the Electoral Office I learned much about the adoption process
Management was not friendly. Co-workers were very cooperative.
The hardest part of the job was seeing how overworked the case-workers were.
The most enjoyable part of the job was receiving mail from grateful parents and preparing notes for seminars.
