Solution Architect (Onsite - Edmonton)

We are seeking a Digital Solution Architect to support a digital transformation initiative focused on delivering citizen-centered services at scale. The ideal candidate will lead solution architecture across multiple digital service projects, developing architectural plans that enable agile software delivery while ensuring alignment across digital services. This role will be responsible for guiding teams in implementing modern digital solutions, contributing to platform vision, and mentoring product teams to accelerate service delivery through reusable components and common capabilities.

The successful candidate will possess strong technical leadership skills and experience with enterprise-scale solution design in complex organizational environments. They will support projects involving system integrations, modernization strategies, and cloud-native architectures while working collaboratively with teams that apply user experience design and human-centered design approaches. The role involves creating technical documentation for diverse audiences, reviewing and contributing to code changes, and actively participating in the continuous improvement of architectural practices.

This position requires working onsite 5 days per week.

Qualifications
- 5 years - Experience as a software architect, leading the design and delivery of enterprise-scale solutions using modern development stacks in complex organizational environments
- 5 years - Experience with containerization, orchestration, and infrastructure-as-code practices for cloud or hybrid environments
- 5 years - Experience working with teams that also apply UX design, service design, design thinking, or human-centered design approaches
- 5 years - Proven ability to define and communicate solution architecture for large-scale systems, including integrations, modernization strategies, and cloud-native design patterns
- Bachelor degree in Computer Science or related field of study (equivalencies will be considered)

Nice to Have
- 5 years - Experience and technical knowledge of the Microsoft .NET Framework
- 4 years - Experience applying secure development practices and managing identity and access using role-based or attribute-based access control and Zero Trust Architecture principles
- 5 years - Experience designing and managing APIs, including RESTful services and system integrations
- 4 years - Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines with automated testing, deployment, and observability
- 6 years - Experience incrementally transforming existing legacy systems into modern digital services across multiple releases
- 4 years - Experience working with both relational and non-relational databases, including schema design and performance optimization
- 3 years - Experience working within public sector digital service frameworks or enterprise architecture standards

Pay: $85,268.42-$171,490.61 per year
