DisplayPoint is a leader in producing high-quality POP displays and custom digital print solutions. We are looking for a hands-on, detail-driven Printing Press Operator to join our production team.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, takes pride in quality, and is eager to learn and grow with the company. We are looking for a printing press operator whom will be responsible for press operations, maintenance, quality control and production.

Key Responsibilities – Prepress

  • Prepare and optimize artwork files for digital print production, ensuring precision and efficiency
  • Preflight customer files, checking for resolution, bleed, fonts, and layout accuracy
  • Set up cut paths and print-ready files for finishing equipment (e.g., laser, icut, cnc, etc.)
  • Work within wide-format workflows using Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign
  • Operate and troubleshoot Caldera and i-Cut software (training provided if needed)
  • Ensure colour accuracy and consistency across all outputs
  • Collaborate with production, cutting, and assembly departments
  • Maintain organized, up-to-date digital file systems and job tracking
  • Meet tight production deadlines with minimal supervision

Key Responsibilities – Printing Press Operation

  • Set up and operate large-format digital printing presses
  • Perform routine and preventative press maintenance
  • Monitor jobs for output quality, colour consistency, and technical accuracy
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe press area
  • Follow and contribute to standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Coordinate with prepress, cutting, and assembly to ensure job flow and accuracy
  • Manage and monitor ink and printing supply inventory
  • Assist in planning and maintaining daily and weekly production schedules
  • Prepare customer samples for sign-off in a timely manner
  • Help train and guide other team members
  • Work flexible hours when necessary to meet deadlines

Qualifications & Skills

  • 2+ years of experience in prepress, digital print, or wide-format printing (preferred)
  • Proficient in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign
  • Familiarity with Caldera and Esko i-Cut software (or willing to learn)
  • Understanding of colour management and quality control standards
  • Strong attention to detail, with good file organization and naming habits
  • Ability to communicate clearly, follow direction, and provide leadership when needed
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and email communication
  • Diploma or certificate in Graphic Communications or Print Production is an asset
  • Must be dependable, self-motivated, and a team player
