Overview
We are seeking a dynamic Youth Program Facilitator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about leading and coordinating programs, ensuring their successful implementation and impact.
Responsibilities
1. Program Implementation and Support
- Create, deliver and oversee youth-directed programs and activities, ensuring they align with community priorities and objectives.
- Facilitate engaging and dynamic activities that cater to the interests and developmental needs of youth.
- Provide mentorship and support to youth participants, fostering a positive and inclusive environment.
- Evaluate the effectiveness and impact of programs and make recommendations for improvements.
- The Youth Program Facilitator will be responsible for leading activities, guiding youth, and monitoring program effectiveness.
2. Administrative Duties
- Maintain accurate records related to program activities, participant attendance, and feedback.
- Assist in managing program-related budgets, including tracking expenses and handling organization credit card to make purchases.
- Develop and update program resources such as marketing material and program documents.
- Prepare and submit regular reports on program progress and outcomes to the YAN Coordinator.
3. Community and Partner Engagement
- Act as a liaison between the program and community partners, including schools, local organizations, and other stakeholders.
- Foster and maintain positive relationships with youth, parents, and community members.
- Assist in recruiting and training volunteers to support program activities.
- Help in the creation of marketing materials to promote program activities and events.
4. Other Duties
- Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as needed to support the success of youth programs.
- Maintain a flexible schedule, which may form time to time require availability for evenings and weekends.
Qualifications
- Enrolled in or intent to enroll in post-secondary education in a field related to youth work, education, social work, or equivalent program.
- At least 1 year of experience working directly with youth and/or facilitating programs.
- Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of best practices in youth programming and services.
- Valid Criminal Record Check including vulnerable populations check.
- Valid First Aid certification considered an asset.
- Must be 18 years of age or older to apply.
Skills
- Strong understanding of youth development and effective programming techniques.
- Proficiency in administrative tasks including record-keeping and budget management.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage and inspire youth.
- Experience in community outreach and partnership development considered an asset.
- Competence in using social media and other marketing tools for program promotion.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $21.55 per hour
Expected hours: 10 per week
