Overview
We are seeking a highly organized, enthusiastic, and motivated Taproom Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of our taproom. This role is responsible for staff management, scheduling, customer experience, inventory control, event coordination, and maximizing taproom profitability. The ideal candidate is a natural team builder, thrives in a dynamic environment, communicates clearly, and is passionate about customer experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
Staff Management & Scheduling
- Oversee job postings, interviews, hiring, and onboarding of taproom staff
- Create and post job openings as needed
- Manage staff schedules and availability to meet operational needs while minimizing labor costs
- Organize and conduct individual check-ins with taproom staff to maintain engagement and performance
- Fill and/or support bartending shifts as needed to ensure proper coverage
Communication & Team Support
- Keep staff informed of new beers, events, and key updates to ensure a consistent customer experience
- Ensure staff have on-going beer education and quality assurance
- Manage general inquiries, answering questions or directing them to the appropriate person
- Communicate with brewery and production staff to coordinate tap lists and streamline ordering
- Communicate with graphic designer for signage, merchandise, social graphics, newsletter info, and website updates
- Monitor social media occasionally, responding to DMs as needed
Taproom Operations
- Monitor task completion, cleanliness, and organization; address issues promptly
- Maintain inventory and stock levels for cleaning supplies and related items
- Keeping event storage areas organized
- Oversee weekly tip distribution and report to accounting.
- Submit monthly sales reports to LGCA
- Manage keg rentals, including deposits, returns, and proper documentation
Inventory & Ordering
- Maintain stock and place orders for: Non-alcoholic beverages, Wine, cider, liquor, gluten-free beer, and cocktail ingredients
- Taproom glassware and merchandise (apparel, headwear, glassware for sale and licensees)
- Collaborate with graphic designer on merchandise orders throughout the year
- Track and manage accurate inventory levels across all taproom products
- Identify cost-saving opportunities by comparing suppliers and consolidating orders to reduce shipping costs
- Occasionally assist with brewery supply orders, deliveries, and general errands as needed
Event Planning & Coordination
- Maintain and manage the taproom’s event and reservation calendar
- Collaborate on new taproom event ideas, planning, and execution
- Coordinate private bookings and work with guests to tailor the space to their needs
- Plan and schedule food trucks, vendor pop-ups, and community events
- Manage applications and communication for offsite events such as beer festivals and markets
Sales & POS Management
- Develop and implement strategies to increase taproom sales
- Maintain and update POS (Square) for in-person and online sales
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $45,500.00 per year
