St. Joseph’s Continuing Care Centre is seeking a Full-Time Supervisor of Environmental Services. We offer a competitive salary range between $35.85 - $44.80, HOOPP Pension plan, access to our Employee Assistance Program (EAP), and career development opportunities.

This role is focused on overseeing the operational, maintenance, and housekeeping aspects of a healthcare setting, with responsibilities including:

1. Plant Operations: Managing daily activities involving plant operations, maintenance, and housekeeping.

2. Utility Management: Administering utilities such as electricity, natural gas, water, and fuel, ensuring their proper transmission to points of use.

3. Equipment Oversight: Assisting in the monitoring and maintenance of oxygen and vacuum pumps, reporting deficiencies, and ordering oxygen weekly.

4. Technical Supervision: Establishing repair procedures and standards for utilities, housekeeping, and biomedical engineering.

5. Advisory Role: Providing technical guidance during incidents involving loss or damage to the facility.

6. Facilities Improvement: Supervising construction, repairs, and landscaping efforts to enhance the facility.

7. Maintenance Planning: Organizing and executing maintenance and repair projects for buildings, grounds, and utilities.

Qualifications

1. Completion of a Management or Supervisor Course.

2. Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a healthcare-related position is an asset.

3. Demonstrated management skills.

4. Successful completion of Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Course, related trades certificate i.e. electrician, mechanical technologist, etc. or prior management experience in a maintenance or housekeeping role.

5. Successful completion of the Environmental Services Leadership Program from the Ontario Healthcare Housekeepers Association or equivalent is an asset.

6. Proficient with desktop computing including Word processing and spreadsheets.
