Overview
We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Summer League Staff to join our team for the upcoming season. You will play a vital role in creating a safe, fun, and engaging environment for players. You will be responsible for leading activities, providing support, and ensuring that all players have a memorable experience. Ideal candidates will have strong interpersonal skills and a passion for working with children.
Duties, roles and responsibilities for this position include the following;
- Take a lead or assistant role in the daily delivery of the House League sessions teaching soccer skills to youth.
- Assisting with the running of tournaments and special events.
- Ensure a safe, fun, and inclusive learning environment.
- Address individual needs, offering tailored coaching to enhance skill development.
- Delivery of our soccer program to youth participants, supervising field activities, which include skills, activities & games.
- Preparing field layout for sessions, setting up and dismantling equipment.
- Field Marshalling for tournament and league hosting.
- Adhere to safe work practices, policies & procedures as outlined at orientation.
- Ensuring fields and lines are maintained.
- Filling in for Metro Coaches as required.
- Other duties assigned by your employer.
Eligibility Requirements
Essential Criteria:
- Minimal age of 15 on or before the start date of work.
- Clear Certificate of Conduct / Vulnerable Sector Check
- Safe Sport Certification
- Are a Canadian citizen, a permanent or a temporary resident of Canada or have a valid Canadian work permit.
Asset Criteria
- Prior Experience instructing soccer to youth ages 3 to 13 years of age would be an asset.
- Excellent communication skills
- Valid Standard First Aid Certificate
- Active Start and Fundamentals Coaching Certification
Experience
- Previous experience working with children is preferred but not required.
- Strong time management abilities to effectively balance multiple tasks throughout the day.
- A positive attitude and a willingness to help others.
