The Opportunity
Ancora Waterfront Dining & Patio’s (Ambleside) cuisine manifesto is hinged on sustainable seafood, while sourcing local and international ingredients, and draws inspiration from its Pacific Northwest surroundings. Understanding the city's dining evolution has inspired Ancora to create a menu that accommodates all of its diners' culinary desires, combining flavours and techniques which embrace several diverse cultures in a modern, yet approachable setting.
The ideal person will have a sincere passion for hospitality and upscale service, many years of experience in a Restaurant Manager position and a deep knowledge of wine and cocktails.
The Restaurant Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations of the restaurant including sales, fiscal operations, accounting, recruitment, and maintenance of the building and equipment. Additionally, the Manager will be responsible for managing the revenue with the goal being to exceed budget and preserve cost-effectiveness and profitability in agreement with company policies.
What You’ll Do
- Work with other managers to recruit, orient, train, and schedule shifts for new employees.
- Oversee restaurant staff performance, ensuring quality dining.
- Empower staff to take initiative to drive sales and repeat business.
- Adhere to company standards and service levels to increase sales and minimize costs, including food, beverage, supply, utility and labor costs.
- Work the floor and converse with customers to ensure they are receiving a high level of service.
- Encourage customer feedback and comment cards.
- Ensure that all products (food and liquor) are entered into both the POS computer and Optimum Control and are being sold within budget.
- Establish urgency and initiative throughout the business.
- Ensure a food-safe organization through labelling, rotating, sanitation, and cleanliness of operations in both front of house and back of house
- Motivate employees to greater levels of productivity.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What You Have
- 3+ years of experience in an upscale restaurant management position and proven ability to manage and maintain the highest service standards.
- Decision-making skills, process improvement, strategic planning, verbal communication, customer focus, management proficiency, managing profitability, quality focus.
- Strong knowledge of wine and cocktails
- WSET 2 considered an asset
- Proven ability to grow the business, increase sales and drive traffic, all while improving the guest experience.
- Must be legally authorized to work in Canada to be considered.
