Job description

Registered Physiotherapist

We are looking for a registered physiotherapist to join our growing mobile practice on a permanent part-time basis, with the opportunity to move to full-time in September 2025. MLPT has a well-established, client base and a waitlist of clients awaiting care. We make the commitment to our therapists that working with us means that you will have a consistent client base that allows you to create a schedule that works for you. This position is available immediately. We are open to applicants who are interested in providing care to patients located in communities outside of Winnipeg in Manitoba.

Job Summary

As a physiotherapist at MLMP you will,

  • Conduct 60-minute initial assessments and 45-minute follow-up visits.
  • Have 30 minutes of travel time included in your hours for each client seen in a day.
  • Provide assessment/treatment to individuals in various home environments including: private residences, workplaces, personal care homes, assisted living facilities, and hospital settings
  • Assess patient physical abilities and determine appropriate treatment plans
  • Determine and demonstrate exercise programming to clients/caregivers
  • Ensure proper storage, maintenance and disinfection of equipment
  • Ensure proper documentation in a timely manner and safe, appropriate storage of personal health information
  • Confer with allied health professionals and patient families, as appropriate
  • Be required to carry large equipment including a treatment table or be flexible to work with individuals where they are most comfortable/safe in their environment

The desired candidate will possess all or most of the following characteristics:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to adapt to unique requirements of each patient and environment
  • Willingness to learn new concepts and techniques in accordance with current clinical best practice recommendations
  • Strong time management skills
  • Comfortable with collaboration with other disciplines and demonstration of professional judgement in practice
  • Knowledge and understanding of the physiological, social, cultural and economic aspects of client care
  • Be in good physical and mental health and capable of safe transfer of large and/or heavy clients with diminished weight bearing capacity
  • A passion for learning, growth and working with people

Required Credentials

  • Applicants must be registered with the College of Physiotherapists of Manitoba in good standing
  • Must hold individual liability insurance
  • Require a valid Manitoba Driver's License
  • Provision of current Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment
  • Acupuncture, neurological treatment experience and experience greater than two years are considered assets
