Kinbridge Community Association (Kinbridge) is a grassroots organization providing recreation, education and social service programs in South Cambridge.

Kinbridge is hiring an experienced and outstanding Recreation Coordinator to create positive experiences with children and families in our neighbourhoods. This role supports community outreach and events, building healthy relationships with children and families, and dynamic program delivery.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Recreation and Leisure Degree or equivalent
  • Experience: 2 years’ experience in developing and implementing Seasonal Recreation, Summer Camp, Afterschool Programs and family activities, Experience in supervision of staff, budgeting, and evaluation. Experience in community development, events, outreach and working within diverse communities including ethno-cultural, economic and marginalized neighbourhoods.
  • Certifications: Standard First Aid and CPR, High Five - Principle of Healthy Childhood Development [UMAB (Understanding and Managing Aggressive Behaviours), ASIST Training, - are assets]

Requirements:

  • Police Records Check, including a screening with the vulnerable sector.
  • Valid “G” Class Driver’s License; access to dependable transportation/ vehicle
  • Excellent Computer Skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher)
  • High Five - Principle of Healthy Childhood Development

Experience:

· Demonstrated ability to development and implement children and family recreation

· Demonstrated ability to assess current priorities, workload, and resources, and establish an action plan ensuring immediate needs are met while longer-term goals, plans and actions are developed

· Proven ability to work in a collaborative, team environment, as well as, independently

· Proven organizational skills to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines

· Demonstrated leadership and team building skills, including the ability to motivate and manage recreation staff and volunteers

· Demonstrated abilities to work with diverse communities, views and marginalized neighbourhoods

· At least two (2) years in program planning, development and implementation as well as experience in program monitoring, evaluation and oversight;

· Experience in High Five Accreditation.

This role offers a competitive wage range of $23.00 to $25.00 per hour, based on a 35-hour week and benefit package. Hours will range from afternoon and evening work and weekend hours to support the needs of the program.
