Overview:
The primary responsibilities of the Quality Control Inspector position include daily product inspections and classifications, daily and weekly reporting, and regular performance testing and process control and adhering to government standards.
Responsibilities:
· Inspection & classification of finished products each day
· Maintain product and material inspection, and test data daily
· Complete weekly production and second reports required to ensure accurate inventory.
· Monitor & maintain a documented program of quality assurance, inspection and control for the manufacturing process that meets the requirements of the Ontario Concrete Pipe Association (OCPA) Plant Prequalification Program, and CSA A23.4 Plant Certification
· Monitor and maintain inspection, measuring and test equipment required to ensure the manufacturing process meets or exceeds the industry standard
· Provide a record of material & product test performance & non-conformity
· Inspect in-process products for special requirements and applications specified by engineering, including, fittings and hardware
· In-process inspections as requested by production and/or shipping including gaskets, coring, scribing, rework, repairs, and confirmation of special applications
· Report on product performance testing and process control, in meetings and written reports, including testing summaries and interim reports, as outlined in the CPCQA Plant Prequalification Program, and Compliance Reports
· Be part of the continuous improvement teams and direct quality programs to reduce non-conformance and discontinuity
· Special projects as required by, and agreed upon with Management, including any changes or revision to current responsibilities
Qualifications:
Education Required:
· Post- Secondary Diploma, preferably in Civil Engineering Technician program
Years of experience:
· 1 year of experience in a Quality Inspector or materials testing position
Specific Experience:
· Willingness to work in an industrial plant environment and out in the elements
· Able to climb ladders and move around operating machinery in a safe and proficient manner
· Concrete testing certification from CCIL or ACI preferred but not required
· Must have experience with proper use of inspection, measuring and test equipment, including and understanding of proper procedure and calibration
· Must have excellent communication skills, written, verbal and computer (MS Office), as well as experience with blueprint reading and dimensioning
· Should have a basic understanding of quality assurance, concrete products & related industry standards, satisfactory to meet the requirements of the Quality Manager

· Willing to work overtime and shifts when needed including Saturdays
· Must be able to function without direct supervision. Must also be able to work effectively in a team environment
· Always maintain a professional attitude, especially when handling stressful situations
· Equipment and Machinery Experience
o Hand tools including trowels, drills, hammers

· Steel-toed safety boots

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $50,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
