The Opportunity:

Genrep is looking for an organized and professional Parts Advisor to join our team. The purpose of the Parts Advisor is to source, cost and purchase material required for service quoting and service jobs. This involves preparing quotations, material costing, vendor management and procurement. Success for this role is measured by our ability to have quotes completed in a timely fashion and execute purchasing requirements to meet order and job schedules.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Source and research parts using internal and external resources to ensure part accuracy for current internal and external service quoting.
  • Work with vendors to ensure that business systems are loaded with accurate and complete procurement data regarding pricing, lead time, order quantities, part numbers, descriptions, and manufacturer.
  • Creating purchase orders in the Materials Requirement Planning system.
  • Placing/confirming purchase orders with suppliers
  • Tracking the purchase orders, and expediting if needed
  • Work with Technicians and vendors to ensure proper information is available to support Technicians quoting and Technical documentation requirements
  • Negotiate best value for purchasing decisions and drive cost reduction from vendors.
  • Expedite parts deliveries.
  • Prepare service quotations in a timely fashion while adhering to all company process’, price lists and/or mark-up strategies. Vendor selection and management for after-market parts.
  • Support Accounts Payable process for assigned orders and/or vendors.
  • Prepare and process necessary documentation for purchases, returns, warranty coverage and other work as required.
  • Responsible for acting as a back up to additional administrative functions within the Service Department – includes cross training on required process and roles

Desired Skill, Knowledge, and Experience:

Post-secondary education with a diploma/degree in business, engineering or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

· Experience working with ERP/MRP systems for job management, material management, supplier/vendor management

· Experience in preparing quotations suing price models

· Procurement experience involving customer and supplier management

· Experience in Supply Chain within a manufacturing/warehousing environment

· Experience with automotive parts, industrial engines or generators. Working knowledge of the Parts associated with engines or generators.

· Experience working with and managing suppliers.

· Inventory Management skills (material planning, forecasting, minimum / maximum levels)

· Exceptional time management skills with an ability to multi-task, manage priorities, and meet deadlines with a deep attention to detail.

· Self-starter that demonstrates initiative and identifies opportunities

· Light material handling experience

· Can physically lift up to 50 lbs. repeatedly; can work while standing for up to 8 hours and/or remain seated for up to 8 hours.

· Positive attitude. Team player with excellent written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to foster strong working relationships.

· Willingness and ability to adapt to change

· Computer proficiency with a thorough knowledge of MS Office and social media tools (texting, web conferencing, etc.).

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $60 - 70,000 Annually
