Full job description

We are seeking an Operations Manager to join our dynamic team at Foreseeson Technology Inc.

An experienced and dedicated Operations/Production Manager to lead and oversee all aspects of manufacturing operations at our electronics production facility in Richmond, BC. The person will ensure that production targets are met efficiently, cost-effectively, and with high quality. This position requires a hands-on leader with strong technical knowledge in electronics manufacturing, production planning & scheduling, quality, and as well as a proven ability to manage people, processes, and performance in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Production Management:

  • Lead and supervise all aspects of electronics manufacturing operations, including SMT, through-hole assembly, testing, packaging, and shipping.
  • Develop and manage production schedules to meet customer delivery timelines and inventory targets.
  • Ensure efficient utilization of labor, equipment, and materials.
  • Strong leadership and technical knowledge on SMT/TH/Assembly processes.
  • Ensure up to date data on 1ems system/KPIs.

Process Optimization:

  • Implement Lean, Six Sigma, and other process improvement methodologies to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and improve quality.
  • Identify bottlenecks and implement solutions to improve throughput and yield.

Team Leadership:

  • Manage, mentor, and develop a team of production supervisors, line leads, and assembly staff.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.

Quality & Compliance:

  • Work closely with the Quality Assurance team to maintain ISO 9001, IPC-A-610, and other regulatory or customer-required standards.
  • Address non-conformance issues and drive corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).

Planning & Coordination:

  • Collaborate with supply chain, engineering, customer service, and finance teams to align production with business objectives.
  • Monitor KPIs such as OEE, OTIF (On Time In Full), scrap rate, and first-pass yield.

Safety & Maintenance:

  • Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations (WorkSafeBC standards).
  • Oversee equipment maintenance and facility upkeep in coordination with technical teams.
  • Other task assigned in the future

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. Mechanical, Industrial, or Electrical Engineering is preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in a leadership role within an EMS or electronics manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of PCB assembly (SMT and PTH), box build, and test processes.
  • Proficient with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., MiSys, SAP, Epicor, Oracle NetSuite).
  • Must be able to anticipate potential problems, both internal and external, to the specific department(s) being supervised.
  • Must possess the ability to lead and give clear direction to others.
  • Program management experience desired with a strong ability to communicate with the end customer.
  • Proficient with Microsoft word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Able to use strong problem-solving skills to make sound technical decisions based on experience, knowledge and logical thinking.
  • Understanding of industry standard specifications such as IPC and military as they relate to PCBAs.
  • Working knowledge in Manufacturing Execution System software
  • Knowledgeable in program management, scheduling and statistical process control methods. Experience with SMT, AOI, Selective soldering programming is a plus.
  • Must possess very clear verbal and written communication capabilities.
  • Knowledge of ISO, IPC, RoHS, and ESD practices
  • PMP or Six Sigma Green/Black Belt certification.
  • Experience with Industry 4.0 tools and smart manufacturing technologies.
  • Familiarity with Canadian labor laws and WorkSafeBC requirements.
  • Can do attitude and can work with minimum supervision.
