The Opportunity

Papi's Seafood & Oyster Bar features the best fresh catches from the Pacific Northwest, sea-inspired cocktails, a sun-soaked patio, and a picturesque view of English Bay.

We are currently seeking a reliable, passionate Line Cook to join our impressive BOH team. The ideal candidate will have a sincere passion for hospitality and upscale service.

What You’ll Do

  • Ensure the preparation station and the kitchen are set up and stocked.
  • Prepare simple components of each dish on the menu by chopping vegetables, cutting meat, and preparing sauces.
  • Report to the Head Chef and follow instructions accordingly.
  • Ensure food preparation and storage areas meet health and safety standards.
  • Clean prep areas and take care of leftovers.
  • Stock inventory and supplies
  • Cook menu items with the support of the kitchen staff.

What You Have

  • 2 - 4 years’ similar or transferable experience
  • Must have Food Safe
  • Red seal or other culinary school equivalent is strongly preferred
  • Must have a high level of autonomy and strong communication skills
  • Able to work in a fast paced environment and stay calm under pressure
  • Experienced handling grill, pans
  • Garde manger experience considered an asset
  • Must be Fluent in English
  • It will be a mixture of both prep and line cooking.
  • Honest, trustworthy and reliable
  • Must be legally authorized to work in Canada to be considered.
