Introduction:
We are on the hunt for a talented Lead Lighting Technician to join our team in the Sunny Okanagan in Kelowna, British Columbia and help us continue to deliver exceptional event experiences. The Lead Lighting Technician will play a pivotal role ensuring the success of our events and will focus on the set-up, operation and dismantling of AV equipment for small to large scale productions within the BC Interior and nationwide specializing in lighting engineering. The role also involves shop and equipment maintenance responsibilities.

What you will have the opportunity to do:
- Delivery and supervision of scheduled events requiring Lighting equipment
- Set-up, operation and dismantle of AV equipment: Specializing in Lighting Engineering
- Pre-rig and de-rig all light setups pre- and post production
- Troubleshoot technical issues and resolve problems quickly as they arise
- Liaise with internal team to develop solutions for audio/video/lighting configurations in order to meet project requirements
- Use research and experience to provide input on technical equipment purchases
- Provide an exceptional customer service experience to clients and/or venue staff
- Develop leadership skills to assist in the training and development of junior technicians
- Loading and unloading of equipment from trucks or trailers
- Driving company vehicles and operating equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, etc.
- Provide general warehouse support and assist with maintenance of video equipment
- Ensure proper storage, transportation and maintenance of equipment
- Complete required paperwork and data entry in a timely and accurate manner
- Help to maintain a safe working environment at all times by conforming to all established procedures
- Aid in the development of operating procedures
- Other duties as required
To be successful in this role you:
- Have 3+ years of experience with lighting and rigging for live events and performances
- 1+ years of experience of supervising a event technicians
- Experience programming and operating lighting consoles (Grand MA, ChamSys,HOG)
- Understanding of current lighting technologies, signal flow and networking (MA net, CAN, Artnet)
- Troubleshooting experience with moving lights, conventional lighting, and LED lighting
- Diploma in AV technical education is preferred
- Have a valid class 5 BC drivers license or equivalent
- Are physically fit, safety-minded and able to lift up to 50 lbs
- Have the ability to be flexible in working hours and be available to work outside of regular business hours

The details:
- Permanent Full Time Position
- Based in Kelowna, BC with the opportunity to travel throughout BC and nationwide

- lighting for LIVE EVENTS: 3 years (preferred)
