Clarington KIA is the fastest growing Dealership in the Durham Area! In operation since April 2021, we have seen tremendous growth on the Service side, including growing to a vin count of more than 6000+. Our value first, convenience and high efficiency focus on the service side has caused us to expand into an evening shift. Our prices remain lowest in the industry and as such we need to expand our capacity!

We are seeking a Licensed Automotive Lead Technician for our evening crew. The Lead Technician will be compensated with a shift premium and guarantee. This position is ideal for someone who is looking to move off the bench in the next 1-3 years as we continue to grow the evening shift. The evening crew will consist of the following:

  • 2 Licensed Technicians (including yourself)
  • 1 Apprentice
  • 4:30pm to 12:00am (Monday thru Friday, no weekends)

Job requirements include:

  • Be the Leader of the evening crew ensuring productivity and safety for all is achieved within the shop
  • Help to ensure organization of the evening work to be completed (shift change over meeting at 4:30pm daily)
  • Perform work on repair orders with efficiency and accuracy, while being compliant with the dealership standards.
  • Required to inspect and diagnose any malfunctions, or customer’s concerns and perform repairs on vehicles.
  • Complete automotive maintenance responsibilities, including oil changes, tire rotations, transmission flushes, air conditioner re-charges, front-end alignments, battery installations and headlight, taillight installations, etc.
  • Working alongside the Service staff communicate if additional work is needed or if repairs/work cannot be completed within the given time frame.
  • Certify all warranty repairs are completed as stated by the manufacturer and ensure sufficient documentation exists to support the warranty claim.
  • Organize with the Parts Department to confirm the availability of parts needed to complete work orders.
  • Conducting road tests on vehicles to ensure the quality of repair and guaranteeing vehicles remain clean for customers.
  • Staying updated with technical skills and attend sponsored training classes.
  • Maintain working environment; ensure equipment durability and workplace safety.
  • Required to wear safety equipment and clothing (i.e., safety glasses and footwear).
  • Ensure compliance with regulations, such as safety requirements, hazardous waste disposal, Canadian Occupational Health and Safety Regulations and other policies and procedures as required.

What you bring:

  • Licensed Automotive Service Technician (310s)
  • A valid Ontario Class G Drivers’ License is required.
  • Highly skilled with technical and mechanical aptitude and exceptional problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills along with attention to detail.
  • A strong sense of personal pride in their workmanship
  • Valid Ontario Class G driver’s license
  • Clean Driver’s Abstract
