Full job description
Position Title: Junior Marine Mechanic - Full Time, year-round permanent position
Reports To: Head Engineer
Position Overview: Let’s get greasy! Reporting directly to the Head Engineer, the Junior Marine Mechanic will play a critical role as part of the Mechanics team. They will assist in the daily mechanics and maintenance of our fleet of 9 jet boat vessels. For this position, we're looking for a Certified Mechanic with a working knowledge of DC electrical systems. A diesel endorsement and experience in the marine or automotive industry is considered an asset.
Responsibilities:
As a seasonal operation, the responsibilities of the position will vary between the operating season and the off-season.
- On-water maintenance of jet boat engines, jet drives, marine electronics, hydraulics and fire safety equipment
- Servicing of marine engines and propulsion systems and all ancillary equipment
- Assist with maintenance of sea water cooling systems
- Assist with maintenance of steering/control systems
- Misc. daily maintenance and duties as required
- Assist with end-of-season vessel haul-outs
- Assist with the development of year-end preventative maintenance programs
- Assist in vessel winterizations
- Assist with in-shop rebuilds, modifications and repairs of Marine Engines and Systems
- Assist with preparation of haul for new topcoat painting and underwater anti-fouling
- Misc. daily maintenance and duties as required
Ideal Candidate would have or acquire:
- Certified Mechanic
- Diesel endorsement is considered an asset
- Experience in Marine or Automotive industry is preferred
- Working knowledge of DC electrical systems

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $23.50-$25.00 per hour
