In this role, you’ll work as part of a cross-functional team to support the goals of the finance and leadership teams. This position is perfect for someone looking to gain practical experience in finance and accounting across a range of competencies while working with a dynamic, growing company. Prior experience is an asset but not required - great people stand out more than experience - we can train the rest!

This is currently a part-time role (2-3 days per week), but we are open to talking about a full-time position for someone with the right experience who is keen to upskill and expand the role. The salary is $40,000-50,000 for a full-time position which will be pro-rated for part-time hours.

Responsibilities

  • Process full cycle Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
  • Process expense reports and petty cash reimbursements.
  • Assist with all monthly, quarterly, and annual working papers and relevant schedules.
  • Prepare timely and accurate month-end reconciliations.
  • Assist with filing of period sales taxes in various jurisdictions.
  • Direct liaison with locations across the globe.
  • Participate in the FP&A process, working with financial forecasts and models.
  • Work to improve efficiency and automation within the accounting cycle.
  • Assist with ad hoc analysis concerning management decision-making, regulatory compliance, cash management, internal controls, and financial reporting.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications, Experience & Skills

  • Excellent written and verbal interpersonal communication skills.
  • High degree of organization, attention to detail and level of professional conduct.
  • Excellent time management skills, including the ability to prioritize and manage own workflow to meet competing deadlines.
  • Comfortable with change and can create and own new processes.
  • Results-oriented and focused on continuous process improvement.
  • Naturally inquisitive and not afraid to ask questions, or challenge the status quo.
  • Self-starter and ambitious.
  • Strong work ethic and positive team attitude.
  • Proficiency in Google Sheets and/or Microsoft Excel - essential.
  • Certificate or diploma in accounting or finance, or a related undergraduate degree - essential.
  • Experience with computerized accounting systems - an asset.
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant work experience - an asset.
  • Interest in the biking industry - an asset.
