Job Description

K'awat'si Construction Company is seeking a Journeyman Plumber who is highly specialized in residential & commercial projects, we require the well-tuned talent of a skilled professional. With some of our largest and most intricate projects in the queue, we’re seeking an experienced Red Seal Plumber to bring their industry and trade expertise to the KCC team. Working directly with the General Manager and leadership team, this highly specialized Plumber will ensure they create the highest quality experience of all internal and external project partners and collaborators, resulting in exceptional output, timely completion of all projects and leadership in proactive and solutions-focused communication every step of the way.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Install, repair, and maintain pipes, valves, fittings, drainage systems, and fixtures in commercial and residential structures.
  • Monitor quality and workmanship on site QA / QC.
  • Over-see various types (Ductile Iron, PVC, Concrete, HDPE, Hydro/Tel, etc.) of underground utilities to the local specifications.
  • Thorough understanding of survey reports and implementation.
  • Collaborate with general contractors, electricians, and other construction professionals.
  • Follow building plans and blueprints.
  • Respond to, diagnose, and resolve plumbing emergencies.
  • Perform routine inspections of plumbing and drainage systems.
  • Light construction, carpentry, painting, plastering, flooring, ceiling, and electrical work as required.
  • Prepare bids, budgets, and cost estimates.
  • Keep accurate records of time spent working, description of work performed, and materials used.

Job Requirement:

  • 5+ years of related work experience or combination of relevant education and experience.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of construction documents, drawings, specifications, current construction practices and methodology.
  • Demonstrated negotiation/management skills.
  • Ability to plan and manage to a project schedule.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and collaborate with multiple stakeholders, anticipate stakeholder needs, and proactively identify solutions.
  • Capable of identifying constructability issues in moderately complex situations and creating solutions in the construction plans and schedules.
  • Healthcare Experience an asset.
  • Certificate, diploma, or University Degree an asset.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with the KCC construction Team.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $40.00-$45.00 per hour
