IT Support Technician

Summary

IT Support Technician is responsible for end-user IT support, working directly with users and managing IT support requests using a ticketing system. Has excellent communication skills and is willing to go the extra mile for customer satisfaction.

Has experience with Active Directory and Microsoft O365 platform, understanding of enterprise IT security fundamentals, and ability to prioritize and escalate complex issues to other team members.

Windows 10, O365, Antivirus, Email Security, Printers, File server management, Network and IT troubleshooting and Customer service.

What you’ll Do – the Role (Responsibilities)

  • Provide tier 1 and 2 support for end-user hardware, software, networking, printing, and telephony. Escalate issues requiring additional support from the System Administrator or work with external support.
  • Experience with a ticketing system such as Freshservice, Zendesk, or similar to manage and update support tickets.
  • Support Windows 10 and applications and services such as Chrome, Adobe, Printers, and Antivirus on end-user computers.
  • Set up and manage user access, privileges, and security in Active Directory and Azure Cloud. Work closely with HR for onboarding and offboarding requests.
  • Support Office365 productivity suite, including Azure AD, Exchange, Teams, and SharePoint.
  • Troubleshoot network issues for end-user computers (wired and wireless), including VPN connectivity.
  • Support Antivirus software on end-user computers.
  • Assist with Windows updates and application patching on workstations.
  • Maintain hardware inventory for new user requests or supporting hardware replacements.
  • Create documentation and standard operating procedures.
  • Other tasks and responsibilities may be required occasionally, consistent with the growth and development of the organization and the position.

What You Need (Requirement)

  • Minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role providing IT support for mid to large-sized enterprises.
  • Experience supporting Active Directory, O365 platform, and Intune.
  • Strong problem identification, escalation, and problem resolution skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Experience in supporting and troubleshooting networks is an asset.
  • Proven ability to simplify complex issues and communicate in a way that is easy to understand.

Working conditions

  • Manual dexterity is required to use desktop computers and peripherals.
  • After-hours support as needed.
  • Lifting or moving up to 30 lbs may be required.
