Industrial Product Design Engineer

Eteros stays ahead of the competition by relying on in-house manufacturing and engineering for the majority of our parts. We have multiple new CNC mills and lathes, welding stations, and automated machinery and fixtures that were custom designed and built in-house. The best part of all is that we have a whole array of challenging projects to devote our ingenuity and tools to.

Duties

• Working directly with our design team to develop novel product offerings and solutions
• Bringing concepts of complex systems through to the detailed design of components and parts
• Integrating our industry leading computer vision technology to mechanical harvesting systems
• Work with our computer science and automation groups to create, test and commercialize advanced mechanical systems for our clients
• Continuous improvement of our existing equipment, including the development of new accessories
• Testing prototypes and making rapid changes to improve features and performance
• Assisting our production team with models and drawings for machine parts and fixturing
• Support our legal team with reviewing and writing patents as well as periodic infringement reviews
• Maintaining time and product development logs for SRED and other granting programs
• Verifying that product designs are manufacturable, user-friendly and serve their intended purpose
• Leading the hand-over of a new product from development to production
• Liaising with suppliers to ensure manufactured parts meet specifications

Education and Credentials

• Certificate or degree from a recognized mechanical engineering/technology program or related field.

Requirements

• 10+ years of mechanical design experience
• 10+ years of hands-on experience such as machining, fabricating, being a mechanic or having a genuine love of building things since childhood
• Must be organized
• Fluent in Solidworks

Job Type All positions are full-time and available immediately.

Hours Primarily day shift (8:00am – 4:30pm), with flexibility to work longer hours as required.

Locations CARLETON PLACE. Please note we will only be hiring candidates that currently reside in Canada.
