Position Overview
Join the vibrant and dynamic team at AtlantiCann Medical Inc. (AMI), a leading cannabis cultivation and production facility based in Lower Sackville, NS. As an HR Coordinator, you will play a key role in supporting our growing team and ensuring smooth HR operations. This is an exciting opportunity for a junior HR professional to immerse themselves in the unique and fun environment of the cannabis industry. You will be dedicated to our facility, working closely with our energetic team, while also collaborating with the HR team at Micco Companies' head office in Bedford.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Recruitment and Onboarding:
- Support the recruitment process by posting job openings, screening candidates, and coordinating interviews.
- Process new hire paperwork and perform new hire orientations to ensure a seamless onboarding experience.
- Assist with the development and implementation of onboarding programs tailored to the unique culture of the cannabis facility.
Payroll and Time Management:
- Enter employee hours and exceptions into the payroll system accurately and promptly.
- Address pay-related anomalies and ensure all payroll issues are resolved in preparation for processing.
- Maintain meticulous records of employee attendance and manage leave requests.
Employee Relations and Support:
- Serve as the first point of contact for employee queries and HR-related concerns at the facility.
- Foster a positive work environment by promoting HR ethical standards and employment practices.
Secondary Duties and Responsibilities
Administrative and Project Support:
- Assist with various HR projects and administrative tasks across Micco Companies.
- Collaborate with the head office HR team to ensure consistency and alignment in HR practices.
- Participate in regular initiatives and meetings at the head office to foster team culture and professional development.
Additional Support:
- Assist the head office HR team with employee relations matters as needed.
- Provide backup and vacation coverage to other HR team members as required.
- Support Occupational Health & Initiatives within the facility.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree, Diploma or Certificate in Human Resources required.
- 2-3 years of experience in an HR role, preferably in a regulated industry.
- Strong understanding of HR ethical standards and employment practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Self-starter with the ability to take initiative and work independently.
- Strong organizational skills and keen attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiar with HRIS/Payroll systems.
- Ability to thrive in a fun, dynamic, and fast-paced environment.
Working Environment
This position is primarily located in a functioning Cannabis production facility. Candidates must be comfortable working in this environment and comply with all safety and regulatory requirements associated with Cannabis production.

Work Schedule
- Full-time, Monday to Friday.
- Regular office hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM.
