The Opportunity

Ancora Waterfront Dining & Patio’s cuisine manifesto is hinged on sustainable seafood, while sourcing local and international ingredients, and draws inspiration from its Pacific Northwest surroundings. Understanding the city's dining evolution has inspired Ancora to create a menu that accommodates all of its diners' culinary desires, combining flavours and techniques which embrace several diverse cultures in a modern, yet approachable setting.

We are seeking a Floor Manager interested in working with a dynamic company that has many restaurants and companies with career growth opportunities. The role requires strong leadership & excellent interpersonal skills combined with experience managing service teams within this industry. Tasks will be centered on daily operations including management of floor service, guest relations, employee development and training, scheduling, ordering, and group function coordination.

What You’ll Do

  • Establish efficacy and initiative throughout the business
  • Work with other managers to recruit, train, and orient new employees
  • Coach staff members to identify areas that need improvement
  • Work the floor and converse with customers to ensure they are receiving a high level of service; encourage feedback and comment cards
  • Empower staff to take initiative to drive sales and repeat business
  • Help promote and drive sales by ensuring that each employee is serving the Customer
  • Ensure that all products (food & liquor) are entered into both the Point of Sales computer and Optimum Control and are being sold within budget
  • Regulate and Ensure a food-safe organization through labeling, rotating, sanitation, and cleanliness of operations in both front of house and back of house

What You Have

  • 3+ years of previous experience in hospitality
  • Computer literacy skills.
  • Ability to listen and respond in a calm, diplomatic manner to any guest issues.
  • Excellent personal and presentation and communication skills.
  • A passion for delivering exceptional levels of guest service.
  • Availability to work varying shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends, relief audits, and holidays.
  • Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives without supervision.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in Canada to be considered.
