Your Role:

Are you a technical expert with a passion for hands-on problem-solving? At Quester Tangent, you'll provide critical field support to our customers, ensuring our systems are installed and operating flawlessly. Your role will involve training, commissioning, testing, validation, and troubleshooting of our Train Control & Monitor (TCMS) and Passenger Information System (PIS) solutions.

How You Will Spend Your Time:

A significant portion of the Field Support Engineer’s time will be spent working with our transit customers’ engineering teams in an on-train environment to:

  • Support commissioning of Train Control and Monitoring Systems (TCMS), as well as Passenger Information Systems (PIS).
  • Perform post-installation check-outs to ensure equipment is properly installed.
  • Perform system-level integration testing to validate system installation and confirm proper integration between on-train equipment and systems.
  • Work with both our own and our customers’ engineering teams to troubleshoot support issues identified by our customers.
  • Provide our transit clients with on-site and remote equipment software updates.
  • Deliver training to operations, maintenance, and engineering staff at transit authorities on the use and maintenance of our TCMS and PIS systems and components.

What You Will Need to Succeed:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent.
  • Customer-focused attitude and associated strong interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively and act as QT’s representative for integration testing at customer sites in North America and Asia.
  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills and an ability to work in a high-energy environment with minimum supervision.
  • An advocate of continuous improvement.

Experiences That Will Help You Thrive:

  • Minimum 3 years of post-graduation experience in an Engineering role.
  • Passion for and commitment to delivering the best customer support experience.
  • Range of experience with electronic equipment.
  • Detailed knowledge of software usage in Windows and Linux environments.
  • Understanding of detailed behavior of communication network protocols such as TCP/IP and Serial Communication in both wired and wireless configurations.
